Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett - Good Omens

The end is nigh!" No, "nigh" is not the right term. "The end is ALREADY HERE!" All the "key players" are already on earth, if not are always on earth, and now they are on the move to bring the one-and-only Apocalypse. The Four Horsemen are assembling (War, Famine, Pollution, and Death) and most important and long waited figure is on the brink of revealing his earth-destroying power. Who is that? It's none other than the Antichrist himself, now in the form of eleven-year-old Adam Young, the respected leader of Them, a group of "a kid gang" feared by other kids in their local neighborhood.

But wait a minute, something is not quite right with this Antichrist. He doesn't seem willing to bring an Armageddon-esque end, instead he wants to "purify" the world so he and his gang can live and play just as they want. Hmmm...Apparently hell and heaven's plan won't prevail through this particular Antichrist, but the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will guarantee it happens no mater what.

So. Are we doomed? Well, there's still one hope left. There are two supernatural beings (a heavenly one and a hellish one) who try to save the world from the Armageddon. The angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley are two old and experienced agents from each side. Both of them have been staying on earth since day 1. Make it day 7, after God created human. Aziraphale and Crowley become so well adapted with the world and human lives, and deep inside they never want this world to extinct. Guided by "The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch" and the bright descendant of the author of that prophecy book, bright occultist Anathema Device, all of them try to make sure that Adam won't "open the portal of his power" and bring Apocalypse. Either the heaven-and-hell version or his own version.
